Michelle works with the team at the Lands and Surveys Department of Barbados to modernize and develop geospatial capabilities to empower all stakeholders to use GIS to solve the national challenges related to land and the environment. With a background in Land Surveying, Geosciences and Public Administration, Michelle strives to improve workflows, foster collaboration and put people first as we use data for better decision making. Michelle is also committed to the empowerment of Small Island Developing States like Barbados and the Caribbean to bridge the digital divide through the use of geospatial information and technology.
