Melonie McDermott
Melonie currently serves as the Land Registrar and Director of the Land Title and Registration Department in Bermuda. Her core responsibility in this role is oversight of Bermuda's Deeds and Land Registry, particularly facilitating the transition of all real estate transactions from the Deeds Registry to the Land Registry. Melonie has a decade of experience in Land Law and Land Title Registration practice and procedure. She began her legal journey at the National Land Agency in Jamaica, where she served as a Legal Officer 2, then a Legal Officer 3, and later as Supervisor of the Caveat Department.
Melonie obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados. She is currently completing a Master of Science Degree in Surveying (Real Estate) from Northumbria University. Melonie is a qualified Attorney-at-Law in both Jamaica and Bermuda.
