Dr Diane A Dumashie FRICS, CEDR is President of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), representing land and built environment professionals across 120+ countries. FIG is a UN-recognized NGO comprising national associations, government ministries, academia, and the private sector. With a distinguished career spanning corporate leadership, international consultancy, and independent practice, Diane brings deep expertise in land policy, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Her work particularly across Africa focuses оп institutional strengthening, sustainable development, and inclusive regeneration in sectors such as health, housing, and infrastructure. Founder of Dumashie Ltd, she advises public and multilateral agencies including UN-Habitat, World Bank, FAO, and the Commonwealth Secretariat. Her consultancies have supported ministries in Ghana, Mozambique, Tanzania/Zanzibar, and Kenya, and engaged land professionals in over 14 African nations. A passionate advocate for gender equity, Diane co-led initiatives promoting secure land tenure for women, earning a lifetime achievement award. She served on the UN-Habitat Advisory Group on Gender Equality, influencing pragmatic governance approaches. Committed to professional service, Diane is a Trustee of LionHeart, introducing global ambassadors to support surveyors' wellbeing. Her leadership within RICS includes two terms on Governing Council during pivotal transformation. Diane holds a Doctorate in Land Policy Planning & Integrated Coastal Management and a BSc in Land & Property Management. She is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an accredited member of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution
