Cadien Stuart

Cadien Stuart is a Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer in the School of Building and Land Management, Faculty of the Built Environment, University of Technology, Jamaica. She is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). She holds a BSc in Urban Estate Management from the University of Westminster and MSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading, United Kingdom.

Mrs. Stuart served as the Head of the School of Building and Land Management University of Technology, where she served for six years having responsibility for over 800 students. Prior to this she held the position of Programme Director in the Real Estate Management and Valuations (REMV) Division where she spear-headed the transition from a Diploma to a four year BSc Undergraduate degree programme. She has also been instrumental since 1990, in the development and leadership of modular courses in real estate which have attracted a gross income of approximately $100 million to the University. She has chaired and served on several committees within the Faculty of the Built Environment.

As a Chartered Valuation Surveyor, she has offered consultancy services to the Land Valuation Department where, among other things, she was integrally involved in the appraisal of parcels of land located in the major parishes of Kingston, St. Andrew, St Catherine and St. Thomas as part of two island wide revaluation exercises. In addition, she was involved in the drafting of the Department’s Corporate Plan and several user manuals. Mrs. Stuart was a member of the team which managed the transition of the Department to the National Land Agency (NLA) as an Executive Agency. Currently Mrs. Stuart is an active member of the Association of Land Economy and Valuation Surveyors (ALEVS) where she has served as a member of the Council.
