The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation and Federal Agency for Real Estate Cadastre also supported this event.

(A joint IPTI and Lincoln Institute of Land Policy initiative)

The International Property Tax Institute and Lincoln Institute of Land Policy conducted a joint seminar on the implementation of Property Tax Reforms. This 3-day seminar was conducted in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.

International Property Tax Institute - 2nd Annual Mass Appraisal Valuation Symposium

IPTI's 2nd Annual Mass Appraisal Valuation Symposium focused on the Processes, Systems, Technology and the Valuation of Non-Residential Properties. International speakers dealt with such issues as CAMA technology, benchmarking, capturing premium for location in significant neighbourhoods, international revaluation processes and other relevant issues. This symposium was conducted with the co-operation of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC ), University of British Columbia and the City of Calgary. AIC Education credits were allowed.

Management of Property Taxes for a Global Portfolio

This workshop dealt with the impact of globalisation and the challenges faced by corporate taxpayers trying to manage property taxes for properties located in different countries around the world. Topics considered the strategic management of global portfolios, understanding global property tax systems and processes, challenges in dealing with global markets, attributes and competencies for the global property tax manager and practical examples and experience sharing. Participants were encouraged to share their views as to what works best in differing environments.

On March 27th, Jerry made two presentations; the first dealing with Search for Best Practices or Benchmarking and the second on Challenges with the Valuation and Rating of Public Utilities - Canadian and US Experience.
