The International Property Tax Institute (IPTI) is an organization that was created by industry experts to promote and to foster property taxation and assessment ideals on an international scale.
IPTI opens the door to the world of international property taxation. We assist governments, organizations and professionals alike in obtaining more knowledge and understanding of the complex issue of financing local governments and, in particular, the role of property taxation in this process.
Goals and Objectives
With the objective of promoting the principles of fairness and equity in the area of property taxation and assessment, our main goals are to:
- Foster the exchange of ideas within the property tax arena and to promote experience-sharing
- Promote education of tax professionals, government and private industry
- Promote and facilitate contact among our members
- Disseminate information
- Promote dialogue with various professional organizations relevant to the issue of financing local governments and the tax industry
- Facilitate the provision of timely and innovative solutions to internal and external industry needs through networking and co-operation among key international experts
- Assist in developing a review of the tax policy, legislative framework, valuation, appeal and collection systems
- Foster the ideals of fairness, equity and experience-sharing within the profession
